Historic Remodel & Addtion - Boulder, Colorado

Services: Structural Design, Construction Document Preparation, Field Observations, and Construction Administration

Square Feet: 300 sq. ft addition & 1200 sq. ft remodel

Structural Systems: New wood framing, Existing historical masonry and concrete foundation

Description:  A design/build project by Coburn Development that involved the evaluation, reinforcement and repair of an existing historical Boulder Residence. Extensive basement addition with concrete retaining walls and under-pinned concrete pads supported new and existing wood framing and historical brick masonry structure.  Design challenges arose due to strict guidelines imposed by the overseeing historical committee with respect to maintaining original architectural elements.
